One day I, as a young druid often does, was sitting around and hanging out in my home town of Kelethin just killing the occasional bug, bat and strolling orc. As I was wandering along on my way I suddenly hear shouts coming from up ahead of me.

"We are uber monks in dresses."
"Be afraid. Be very afraid."
"We are scary, RARR"


This is what the voices say. I paused, turning and looking around me and wondering to myself...."what is an Uber Monk?"

Being the curious young druid I was I decided to go investigate the continuing shouts. Coming up upon the hill between the Newbie lift and PoD lift I discovered two odd looking creatures the likes of which I had never seen (not surprising seeing as I had never left the Faydark). There, standing in front of me were two very large lizards standing on their hind legs........and they were wearing dresses as promised...purple ones even!!

"So these are Uber Monks" I thought to myself.. "but what exactly IS an Uber Monk?"

The two lizard things turned and looked at me and I froze in my tracks, no idea of what I should do. Then they spoke again..

"We are uber monks in dresses."
"Be afraid. Be very afraid."
"We are scary, RARR"


It is at this point where I felt a silly streak and ran around in circles screaming.

Not much passed between the two monks and myself but the incident stuck with me. Months later I decided to make one of these "uber monks" and I created Ikkyikkyikky Patangzootboing, the non uber monk who wasn't in a dress.

By now the guild my druid had been in, Spectral Dragons, was basically no more and I had moved her into a friend's guild, Fist of Iron, but I wasn't playing my druid much. My fiance's Ranger (Faolin) was on his way to being what I considered almost uber (hey back when I started if you were over 30 I thought you were pretty uber) and was in a different guild. Well I was bored with my other characters so I slapped some clothes on my lizard (that didn't sound right....but better than having a naked lizard.. hehe) and headed out into the Newbie area in Cabilis near LOIO to play.

My fiance had joined a guild called Spirit Brewers. I thought the named looked kind of familiar but I shrugged that off to the fact it was just a kewl sounding name. One day Faolin had one of the people from the guild come over and give my lizard some stuff that was much better than the heavy leather pieces I had been wearing before. (Come to think of it, until recently I was still wearing a few of those pieces.) Well, this person's name was Lightning and he was pretty kewl and put a few buffs and such on me and let me run off to play.

Anyway, I'm having fun leveling away with my Ranger PLer out in FoB and he's in this guild Spirit Brewers and talking about how the people are pretty fun so I decide to go look at the guild's webpage and happen to look at the roster. There on the Roster I see the names Sslithiss and Xarchu. I stop, thinking "hey wait, I know these names from somewhere." Then it dawns on me....these two names belong to monks.....Iksar monks....these were my Uber Monks in Purple Dresses!! My silly Ranger had found my Uber Monks!

After that I just had to be in the guild and I harassed Faolin into harassing someone to come guild me.

And so be it, my Uber Monk in a Purple Dress came out and guilded my non uber non dress wearing monk.


There's the Uber Monk story for you. Now you understand why I'm always saying stuff about Uber monks and Dresses. :D


Too bad I'm still a Non Uber Monk....but at least I got a dress. Maybe some day I should talk about Ikky's phobia of druid nukes....some of you out there already know about that. >:)
