The Simpsons Futurama
Crossover Crisis II #1
Posted on April 9, 2005 |
Good
news, everyone! You may remember back in 2002 when Bongo brought
out Futurama Simpsons Infinitely Secret Crossover Crisis! Now
after months at work at Bongo, they brought another crossover.
The first crossover found the Planet Express crew trapped in the
comic book world of Springfield, U.S.A, this time round the
citizens of Springfield breach the barrier between fiction and
reality and end up in New New York circa 3005!
The idea of both creations coming together is a fun thought and
it couldn't have gone any better. The story is based on the
professor's invention of creating a device which allows
characters to come to life from books or comics, in this case
The Simpsons. All characters meet their match, for example Leela
and Lisa, and share with you the trademark quotes and actions
you are familiar with.
Eventually you get to the end of the story and yet find
themselves in another crisis. Bender throws professor's
invention into the library and as you could imagine, The
Simpson's weren't the only ones taken out of the books.
Presentation of the comic is done extremely well. Everything
fits in perfectly, layout is done with creativity and the comic
boxer's are done linearly. The graphics are very sharp,
excellent use of colours and textures. Very bright and not dull
as seen in a few of the earlier Simpson titles. Limited use of
advertisements and no junk mail at the end, which is expected
since it's the first issue. The story is excellent and lengthy.
Great use of humour from all of your favourite characters and
well-known trademark events and quotes.
A comic well-done. It's a hard act to follow, I hope the next
instalment is this good.
