Australian Comics Or American Comics? Editorial #1 - 25th January 2003.

I have been wondering in the city of Melbourne lately & I happened to wonder into a store called 'Minotaur', its a comic book shop.

I was looking around for any comics that had anything to do with Simpsons or Futurama comics and I found Futurama issue #10 there. I was amazed. In America, their up to Issue #10, while in Australia their up to issue #4, but what I also acknowledge was there paper is actually real comic paper, very lite indeed. Where our paper is harder which I think is better since our comics wouldn't damage that easily.

Also, remember Bongo do distribute comics worldwide which include the same comic stories and make minor adjustments, such as the front cover would be altered.

If you are an Australian or New Zealand collector of the Simpsons Comics then try to avoid 'Direct Editions' (which is located on the barcode) they are usually American comics. The Bart Simpson comics in America are the same size as the Monthly comics and they do not contain any 'FREE' RM (Radioactive Man) comics. Where in Australia, Bart Simpson Comics are half the size and it contains RM comics for free. It really does not matter whether you get Direct or not editions.

One more thing, I ask the comic book guy there, what's the difference between 'Direct Editions' compared to others that don't say that, he said "Direct Editions are given to comic book stores and the others are given to news agencies", so its really up to you to choose which edition you get. In my opinion, the ones that don't have direct editions on them are better.

Top 10 Reasons Why Simpsons Are The Best Show. Editorial #2 - 14th February 2003.

I have just been surfing the net & found this rather interesting piece of information.

THE TOP TEN REASONS THAT THE SIMPSONS ARE THE BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION:

10) Most dangerous hair styles (i.e. Maggie, Bart, and Lisa)

9) Homer represents 97% of the people who watch the Simpsons

8) Two words: Yellow Skin

7) Bart is a good role model

6) Itchy And Scratchy Episodes!!

5) The witty chalkboard and couch scenes at the beginning

4) Maggie's constant pacifier noise

3) Reliable non-changing lifestyle

2) Always wear the same clothes

1) One Word: "DOH!!!!!!!!!"

Well there you have it. Pretty good reasons don't you think? ;)

What's Better? Editorial #3 - 23rd August 2003.

I was just thinking to myself, what do I like more out of The Simpsons, Futurama or Life In Hell?

I was more cogitating towards the Simpsons with good reason of course. I have basically grew up with them by watching and reading them throughout the years.

Then my next thought was Futurama. Futurama is almost as funny and witty as the Simpsons, but Simpsons appeal more to me, although Futurama came a very close second.

Then Life In Hell was my third choice because I had no other choice left! Just joking. Life In Hell had no TV series for them and they were way before my time, peaking in the 1980's. I didn't really get to read a lot of them either, where both Simpsons and Futurama have there own TV show & Comic Books. Life In Hell would of been a pretty good show to if they made one for it.

Something for the creators of The Simpsons to think about.

ust food for thought on the DVD's.

Although they are coming out, wouldn't it be better if they would release three seasonal DVD's in a year. Rather then waiting one season DVD to come out every year. By the time the 4th season DVD comes out it will be late 2004, and the next will probably be in 2005 and that's only season 5. Come to think about it, by the time the 10th DVD comes out it will be in the next six years!

Don't get me wrong, they might release three every year, who knows? But it's up to them if they want to. Perchance if these DVD's sell quick and make lots of profit for them, perhaps then they might be thinking about releasing at least two DVD's each year.

Come to think of it, their doing a great job with these DVD's. Maybe that's why I am so eager for them to release all season's as quick as they can. The box sets look fantastic, the episodes are crazy and the whole idea of having the whole set is mind-blowing! Maybe using strong words but I WANT ALL SEASON'S NOW!!

ell, finally! After a dozen years, the everlasting primetime cartoon finally gets a great tie-in -- and it's a hilarious rip-off of Grand Theft Auto.

Radical Entertainment has done a great job into making a game that's appreciated by Simpsons fans and gamers everywhere. To think that it has taken them so long to make a game that's of good quality. It makes you think what was the point of making the games like Simpsons Wrestling? That received a score of 13% out of 100%.

It's about time game developers put time and effort into making Simpsons games.

The Simpsons is a great show and they never fail to bring us laughs! I'm sure from now on will be seeing quality games from game developers over the next few years on future consoles. If not, then I'm sure people reviewing the game will say another Simpsons game worth shipping back to the developer.

I'll leave you on one note, IF YOUR A SIMPSONS FAN MAKE SURE YOU BUY THIS GAME. The Simpsons Hit & Run Available on Nintendo GAMECUBE, PS2 & X-Box.

A Horror Filled Comic. Editorial #6 - 4th December, 2003.

fter reading the new Treehouse of horror issue #9, I found it to be a bit too short compared to the other 8.

Although it was an excellent comic to read don't get me wrong their, but I would of thought they could of made a story for 'Margie's Baby' which only features a cover located at the end cover of the comic. They could of developed a story that was only 8-10  pages long, other then to make only a cover.

I also know that they are busy bunch of people (Bongo) and here and there need to cut down on the amount of pages and stories they do. So, enough of the negative points then and get on with the positive.

This comic is pure 'Quality'. Very funny and clever in the way they go about delivering the jokes. They also use the theme and movie Lord of the Rings. Overall this comic is presented well and a great buy for anyone that loves a laugh!

Simpsons Coming To An End? Or is it Movie Madness? Editorial #7 -  20th May 2004. (SPECIAL EDITION)

I was reading the Junk Mail section in the Simpsons Comics issue #85, which is the section I read once I have finished the comic, see if anything interesting has been written.

One reader wrote in and said that he was on the internet several months ago, when he went to www.upcomingmovies.com. There he read that there was going to be a Simpsons movie after Matt Groening decides to cancel "The Simpsons" TV show.

The reader also said if this accusation was true. The people at Bongo didn't answer the question. Why? Because possibly it is true.

The reader pops another question stating if the TV series stops will you guy's (at Bongo) stop making The Simpsons comics. Bongo answered the question and said that "Futurama is no longer on air in the USA, and yet Futurama Comics is running strong." Good news and bad news!

If The Simpsons go off air, the comics will continue to roll. For the bad news is there will be no more NEW Simpsons episodes!

Just to sad to think about that. No Simpsons, a family that you/we have grown up with for the last 16 years. With the strong Simpson fan-base, I don't think The Simpsons will die anytime soon.

For The Simpsons movie? There will be one. I have heard from other sources that there might even be a Simpsons movie 2. So who knows? Might even become a trilogy. Whatever happens in the next 2-3 years take it from Bongo, "...you can rest assured that, somehow, somewhere, it will always include "The Simpsons."
