Brandon W. Pieplow

A Few Appropriate Remarks

Here's a little background. My name is Brandon Pieplow, I am 20 years old, and at the time of this writing, I have lived the first half of my life in Stow, Ohio and the second half in Rootstown. I graduated in 2007 after being homeschooled by my parents all twelve years. Right now, I am employed at WP Graphics, my family's home printing business. We have a contract with The Timken Company for all their print-on-demand (aka POD) work, and we also started picking up local black-and-white and color jobs. We have also added sign-making recently. I like the work, but music is my real passion.

I love listening to, composing and arranging music. I also love just sitting down at the piano and improvising; I'll play pretty much anything that has a keyboard. I have a small 'studio' in the basement consisting of my computer, an Alesis Ion synthesizer, a mixer and a microphone. I compose and arrange mostly classical and cinematic-style music, with a little electro and instrumental rock thrown in. I have created a lot of synthesizer realisations of classical pieces (rather in the style of Switched-On Bach.) Here is a page containing what I consider to be some of my best music.

Some Other Instruments I Try (With Varying Degrees of Success) To Play:

I guess I would say I'm a bit different from the streotypical 20-year-old as far as my interests go. I have sort of a 'Steampunk' flair and a soft spot for old technology - from tractors to cars and from typefaces to computer games. I don't really follow any major sports except for a teeny bit of baseball. I do enjoy other sports and games, however, including Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball, You've Been Sentenced, Apples To Apples, and board games. I collect Breyer model horses, listen to Gregorian chant and I study old Germanic languages for fun (that usually gets me stange looks.) I also dabble in CG and graphic design.
