From the top of Sgwd Gwladys it is possible with great care to follow the river upstream to
“Sgwd Inion Gam”, (Grid Ref. SN 892093)
This is probably the most picturesque waterfall on this section of
river, but it is the most difficult to reach as there are no official footpaths
leading to it.
From the top of Sgwd Gwladys your route starts by
walking upstream, along the right hand riverbank.
When you reach a steep cliff face, wade over to the left
side of the river.
You now keep close to the left hand riverbank and go as far
as you can, then when there is nowhere else to go, cross back to the opposite
bank.
Keep repeating this all the way until you arrive at the falls.
In one place, while on the left hand bank, you will find you
will actually have to walk along the river bed for several yards to get around
a fences and trees. TAKE CARE!
Although the most difficult waterfall to access - the effot is well worth it - Trust Me!
Return the way you came, back to Sgwd Gwladys and then retrace your original route back to whichever car park you started from.
