An easy walk of about 3 miles: Allow about 1 to 2 hours walking.
From BRECON town centre drive about 3 ½ miles south on the A470 towards MERTHYR TYDFIL
After passing through
LIBANUS
Follow just under another 3 miles to a lay-by and picnic area on your Right.
This lay-by is on a left bend, next to the crag
(Grid Ref. SN 972222)
Start by climbing over the stile, through the picnic area, and follow up and over the next stile.
Continue straight on, the path is quite easy to follow most
of the way.
After some distance the path goes downhill and then back up,
curving slightly to the right.
It then curves left as it passes under a low tree. It gets steeper in
places from here.
Follow up and cross over the stile in the fence.
Continue uphill until you reach a cairn, (mound of stones), and
another stile on your left.
Cross over this stile and follow the path straight on in
front of you (sheep track), going up over rising ground, making for the fence
at the top of the incline.
Cross over the stile, turn left and follow line of the fence
to the next stile.
Cross the stile to your left, then turn immediately right, following the fence uphill to the top of the Crag.
TAKE CARE!
The path goes very
close to the edge of the ridge
It is about 600 feet down!
Keep
to the fence and follow down the very steep incline.
(Use fence to help you keep your balance)
Near
the bottom of incline (Grid Ref. SN 969218) turn left and go down across
open ground, crossing the stream near the gate.
Turn right, cross over the stile and follow back through the picnic area to the car park.
