(Welcome to Wales)

Hello everyone,
My name is Bill and these are my Pages of

"Walking in the Brecon Beacons".

I have enjoyed Fell walking for many years. More than I care to think about!

I have been living in Brecon for the past 17 years, enjoying the exhilaration of walking in the Beacons National park.

Over these years I have built up a record of my own favourite walks and I thought it was about time I started to share a few of these routes with others.

If you do follow through any of the routes that I have placed in the following pages, I would very much like to hear your comments.

PLEASE NOTE: - The Sgwd Yr Eira Waterfall is CLOSED at present due to dangerous overhanging rocks

I would like to introduce you to some of my favourite walking routes that I use and have tested for accuracy.

Most of the walks in all areas are suitable for family groups while a couple are for the more adventurouse among you! Full details will be found on following pages.

Please enjoy this beautiful area, but also be aware of all safety aspects while out walking among the mountains.

More recently I have found out about the
'Cefn-Yr-Erw' animal sanctuary at Caehopkin, in the Swansea Valley,
on
the south side of the Brecon Beacons.

They require all the support they can obtain from visitors.

Waterfalls

There are many waterfalls hidden among valleys of Fforest Fawr. This is to the south west of Brecon.

While other more, easily accessibe waterfalls, are in the area near Tal-y-Bont on Usk, about 7 miles south east of Brecon.
