Travel east out of Brecon town to the roundabout.
Continue straight over on the A40 towards Abergavenny
Go about ¼ mile and turn first turning left, got to ‘T’junction turn left to

Tall-y-Bont

On reaching the village take the second turning right and cross the lift Lift bridge over the canal.


Follow this road all the way going past the

Tall-Y-Bont Reservoir.

Continue on another couple of miles until you reach a narrow bridge over the stream.

Cross the bridge and turn left to the car park or park on the side of the road. (Grid Ref. SO 063170)

This is a busy road, so park with care!


Walk up the path to the left of the stream just over ¼ mile, crossing a concrete slab bridge and then fork right.
Go downhill and cross the stile.

If you wish to go to the top of the falls and then on up into the Cwm turn left over the wooden bridge, otherwise cross the bridge follow path allongside the river back down to road car park.


Carrying on in your original direction, drive up the STEEP HILL, then after crossing Cattle Grid and hard left bend, turn IMMEDIATELY HARD RIGHT, almost coming back on yourself, into a rough track.
 

Follow this over cattle grid into a car park. (Grid Ref. SO 055177)



From here there are many fine walks, and a number of waterfalls to see.  

The first small waterfall was on your right as you came over cattle grid at the entrance to the car park.
 

If you wish, follow the path downhill from here through the forest it will lead you back to the concrete bridge near the BLAEN-Y-GLYN waterfall.

Or if walk back to and cross the cattle grid, turn right and climb uphill near the fence and you will see the

UPPER TORPANTAU FALLS (Grid Ref. SN 054178)

Providing that there is another person to drive your car back to Brecon for you!

If you continue up on this path past the waterfalls, it is possible to walk right back to Brecon via the tops of the mountains:
